Walt Disney World’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to Reopen Much Earlier Than Expected

According to the official Walt Disney World calendar, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reopen to guests on July 1, 2024.

The final reopening date is almost a month earlier than the previously planned reopening of July 27, 2024.

The hours of operation on July 1, 2024 will be 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests using early access, and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for all other guests.

Rock 'n Roller Coaster will close on January 6, 2024 to begin renovations

The Aerosmith-themed coaster’s closure began on January 8, 2024. Disney also confirmed that the closure is a routine refurbishment and that no changes to the theme will be made.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Closed for Renovations in February 2024

A permit application for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster project has been filed with Adena Corporation. Adena has worked on several Disney projects, including TRON Lightcycle Run and recent work on the EPCOT redevelopment. Adena was also the contractor for the three-month renovation of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in the first half of 2023.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Closed for Renovations in February 2024

The ride has been experiencing extended downtimes in recent years, and this renovation will likely address some of those issues and continue the progress made in 2023.
