The remarkable document was sent to agents and other scouts, and I also have a copy of it.

Town are looking for players who understand English or who have worked with an English-speaking coach.

Northern Irishman McKenna is known for his detailed instructions and wants a team that can take his information on board.

Excerpts from the target list read:

“Centre-half. Good size. Intelligent, good insight into the game. Composed and technically good. Athletic (good acceleration, agility). Aerial challenges.

“Left back. Physically good (acceleration, agility, top speed and speed endurance). Can run with the ball at good speed. Plays forward passes. Good delivery in the penalty area, including set pieces. Defend 1v1 and post.

“Right. Physically excellent. Technically very good (first touch, passing in tight spaces, running with the ball and 1v1). Contributes with goals and assists.

“Centre-midfielder. Physically strong and good size. Ability to get from one penalty area to another. Athletic. Composed and technically good (able to receive, pass and shoot).

“A ‘ten’. Physically good. Technically above standard. Forward runs. Contribute with goals and assists. Able to press with intensity.
Centre forward. Physically good. Ability to connect play. Threatening at the back. Able to press with intensity.”

There is no talk of a goalkeeper, but insiders report that Ipswich want Carl Rushworth from Brighton.

However, the Tractor Boys are also interested in Luton Town’s Thomas Kaminski.
